Way of the mando – Escape 60

Our day at Escape 60 in Calgary continues with “Way of the Mando.” In this scenario, you and your group have crash-landed your spaceship on a deserted planet. You’ve been hired by an evil organization to retrieve and deliver a package. You and your crew must restore power to your ship and complete your mission to deliver this package before the deadline. It’s the only way to escape! We think that this is a well thought and detailed scenario with a clear goal.

Before starting the escape room, the game master explains the scenario to you in an another room. We really liked that the outside of the doors are decorated according to each different themes. We are then brought in the escape room blindfolded so that we don’t see the decors. The decors are truly extraordinary as it’s so realistic. We were completely transported into the world of Star Wars as soon as the game began. Moreover, there are some elements of the decor made with everyday objects, and you really have to be attentive to notice them because it’s really well done! We thought it was brillant! We also enjoyed the music played in this room!

The puzzles were varied and original in this game. They were all related to the theme. They were mainly automatic puzzles and manipulation games. Unfortunately, there was a broken puzzle which cost us some time. There was a huge amount of puzzles to solve and some were difficult with multiple steps. Hints were given via a walkie-talkie by the game master, who played a character from the theme. We really liked this approach.

Overall, we loved this escape game and highly recommend it because the decors were amazing and the puzzles were fun and challenging. It’s family friendly and probably better suited for group of 4-5 people. We are satisfied with our performance, as we succeeded with only 2 hints. We loved it and we escaped!
