Arcade was the first room we played that evening at Trapped in Surrey. In this scenario, you wake up in a hospital after being unconscious for about a week following a car accident. As you regain your senses, you realize that something important is missing, though you cannot quite remember what it is. Searching your pockets, you discover a torn note and a metal key. The note suggests that you may have visited an arcade facility before the accident, and that your missing item could still be there. After contacting the facility without much success, you learn that there is a shift change at midnight, leaving the place empty for one hour. This is your chance. You have 60 minutes to break in, search the arcade, and recover what you lost. We liked how mysterious the scenario is. It is well detailed, and the objective is clear.

The decor was decent, though somewhat on the simpler side. Everything was in good condition, but the rooms felt a bit empty and could have used more objects and accessories to improve realism. Some of the individual elements looked great and were good ideas, which made us wish the same level of detail had been applied throughout the entire space. Overall, the environment came across as slightly generic and could benefit from more finishing touches. The introduction was delivered through an audio briefing once we were inside the room, and we also enjoyed the background music during the game.

The puzzles were fun to solve, and most of them were connected to the theme and story. The room relied entirely on automated mechanisms and manipulation puzzles. There was good variety, and a few puzzles involved multiple steps. However, the overall difficulty was quite low, with most puzzles being very straightforward. A more cluttered environment or additional misdirection could have made the experience more challenging. That said, the technology worked flawlessly throughout. Hints were provided by the game master via walkie-talkie.

Overall, we enjoyed the experience. While the decor was fairly simple, the puzzles were engaging and enjoyable. It is a family-friendly room that works best for groups of 4 players. We were happy with our performance, as we completed the room fairly quickly without using any hints. We liked it and we escaped!
