Total Confinement was the last room that we did at Lockdown in Red Deer. In this scenario, this prison has turned into a behavioral treatment facility using electric shock. The inmates have taken control of the facility and locked us in. They are planning to give us the same treatment that they received, so we have to find our way out quickly! This is a great scenario that is well detailed and has a clear goal. I like the twist of being the guard locked in by the inmates.

The decor was well done and realistic. We started in two different cells with our hands handcuffed. We thought that it took too long to find the keys for the handcuffs, which became painful after a while. The decor matched the storyline perfectly.

The puzzles were fun, but we thought that there weren’t enough. Also, we had the exact same puzzles to solve in both cells, which we didn’t like. Most puzzles are in the cells, and there aren’t many in the rooms after we got out of there. There’s one manipulation puzzle that takes way too long to accomplish, but the idea is good. It would just need to be a little faster. The balance between traditional locks, automatic mechanisms, and manipulation puzzles was good. The game master comes into the room to give us hints, and we don’t really like that.

Overall, this room isn’t our favorite at this location because of the repetitive puzzles. The room isn’t really scary, but young kids could be uncomfortable. It’s better suited for smaller groups of 2-3 people. We are happy with our performance because we finished with the best time of the month. We liked it okay and we escaped!
