The Undersea Overthrow was the second room we did that day at Improbable Escape HQ!
In this scenario, after years of research, you and your archaeological team have just completed building a submarine designed to recover relics from the lost city of Atlantis. But on launch day, your boss fires the entire team—he wants the treasures for himself! These relics belong in a museum, not in the hands of a greedy collector. Will you be bold enough to steal the submarine and retrieve the treasures yourselves? We liked the scenario because it was well detailed, made sense, and had a clear, motivating goal.
The set design was absolutely stunning and left a strong impression. The realism of both the submarine and the undersea environment was outstanding, with incredible attention to detail throughout. Everything looked brand new and professionally finished. We especially loved how unique the submarine looked—clearly a lot of thought went into sourcing different buttons and materials to create the control panel. Without giving too much away, one specific undersea section left us speechless—the layout there was truly brilliant. We also appreciated the music that helped set the mood during the game.

The puzzles were incredibly fun and refreshingly original. Every challenge was fully integrated into the story and the décor. The room featured only automatic mechanisms, all of which worked flawlessly. It was mostly non-linear, which meant we could split up and solve different puzzles at the same time. There was plenty for everyone to do, and while the puzzles weren’t overly difficult, they were still engaging and satisfying to complete. Hints, if needed, were given via walkie-talkie—but we didn’t end up using any!
Overall, this room ranks among our favourites of all time. The experience was simply brilliant, with perfect set design and fun, well-crafted puzzles. It’s a family-friendly room and best suited for groups of 2–3 people. We’re proud of our performance—we completed the room with time to spare and no hints. We loved it and we escaped!
