We continued our day with Kingdom of Cats at Omventure in Markham. In this scenario, the King of Cats has been kidnapped! He vanished from his chamber, and no one has seen him since. You, the world’s greatest human detectives, have been invited to tea by the Queen herself. Will you be able to find the King and save the feline kingdom from falling into chaos? The storyline is detailed, highly original, and the objective is crystal clear. The game follows a storytelling format, but there are only a few required audio clips to listen to when entering a new room.
Upon entering the first room, you watch an introduction video that explains the story and rules. The decor is beautifully executed, and each room contains plenty of theme-related elements. However, we found it difficult to understand what each space was meant to represent within the story, as there wasn’t a clear connection between them. The rooms are quite dark, which doesn’t entirely fit the fun and lighthearted theme—we felt they could have been brighter to enhance the atmosphere. However, the background music was adorably fitting for the setting. Despite some minor issues, we were able to immerse ourselves in the experience.

The puzzles are all theme-related, with some really creative and original ideas. The game is linear, so you must solve each puzzle in sequence rather than working on multiple ones at the same time. There’s a good mix of traditional locks and automated mechanisms. The puzzles were fairly easy to solve which is perfect for families with children. Hints are provided via walkie-talkie, but the game master does not take on a character related to the story.
Overall, we really enjoyed this escape room—its unique storyline, well-crafted decor, and fun puzzles made for a great experience. We recommend it for families or small groups of friends. As for our performance, we’re happy with how we did—we completed the room in good time with only one hint. We liked it, and we escaped!
