Kappa – Exode Évasion

We continue our day at Exode Évasion in Quebec City with the room Kappa. In this scenario, there are multiple rumours going around at the American university Sainte Trinity. A few members of the Kappa sorority wrote a honour guide to be strictly followed by all members otherwise they’ll be expelled. Everything is being controlled : boyfriends, physical apparence, friendships and more. Many students are outraged so we decide to brake into Kappa’s house during the annual sorority assembly in order to expose the honour guide to everyone. Who is behind this evil plan? We have one hour to figure out who wrote the honour guide.

Before starting the room, we listen to a video with the rules and the story. We thought that the theme of this room was very unique and original. It seemed to be inspired by the movie Mean girls. The decors were amazing and really well done! We won’t give any spoilers, but there’s a unique feature in the room that matches the theme perfectly and it’s quite impressive. The immersion in this room was perfect as it felt like we were in a real sorority house. Also, there were multiple rooms which all had a purpose and the flow of the rooms matched the storyline.

The puzzles were all amazing and fun to solve! They were just difficult enough and with a nice variety of logics. They were all related to the theme and it was even following the storyline. The balance between automatic mechanisms, games and traditional locks was perfect. We were impressed with the originality of the puzzles, they really had brilliant ideas. For the hints, we were contacting the game master with a phone and they would help us with the puzzle we are stuck on while playing a character related to the story. We think that it was a great way of giving hints.

Overall, we highly recommend this escape room because we liked it a lot! There was simply no negative aspect in it. Be aware that it can be a bit demanding physically. We are happy with our performance as we finished with a pretty good time considering that it’s not an easy room. We loved it and we escaped!
