Escape the room

Jurassic escape was the second room we tackled at Escape the Room in New York. In this scenario, an evil corporation has been cloning weaponized dinosaurs, and it’s up to us to save New York and take down the corporation. The scenario is very short with a clear goal. It could have been more detailed and it’s missing a unique twist.

The decor of the first room is really impressive and well done! The other two rooms were fine but looked a bit more damaged and basic compared to the first room. We start in a cage, which didn’t make much sense to us. Also, there wasn’t any music playing, and we had to bring our personal belongings into the room. These are tiny details, but it can affect immersion in our opinion.

Some of the puzzles were fun, but a few of them were not very logical. They were all related to the theme, and most were manipulation puzzles. We thought the flow wasn’t great, as the clue master needed to guide us a little too much, especially in the last room. To clarify, we were not asking for hints; she was just guiding us on what to do next because there wasn’t a way to figure it out. Additionally, one of the puzzles was defective, so the game master had to tell us the answer even though we had figured out how it worked. The hints were given via walkie-talkie.

Overall, we found this room to be okay, but the flow wasn’t great, and the decor quality was unequal. It’s family-friendly and better suited for groups of 2-3 people. We are satisfied with our performance, although we came out of the room a bit frustrated. We completed the room with some time to spare. We liked it okay, and we escaped!
