Infinity and beyond was our first escape room at Exit in New Westminster. At this point, we are quite familiar with the style of escape rooms created at most exit locations in BC so we knew what to expect a little. The toy story theme caught our attention right away, we thought it was very unique and fun!

In this scenario, we find a note from our old toys at pizza planet saying that we were a bad friend for replacing our old toys for new. They have built a machine for us to see what they can do but we need to earn the ability to use it. If we want to see our old toys again, we have to go through the machine and find him. I personally thought that the story wasn’t great. With this theme, I think they could have found a better and more fun story. I think I wasn’t appealed by the goal of the storyline and it felt a bit boring.

The decors were cute with so many objects and inspiration from the movie. There was more than one room which is always what we prefer. The only thing that I didn’t like was that we go from the arcade to Andy’s room. It didn’t make sense to me.

The puzzles were fairly hard but we loved the variety of logics. Most of them were related to the theme and there was a nice balance between locks and automatic mechanisms. The hints were given with the intercom and in person which isn’t our favorite way.

Overall, we liked the theme and the puzzles. I think that they could have done more in general with the decor and story. We think it’s better suited for experienced escape artists as the puzzles are quite hard. We liked it even if we didn’t escape! ( but very close to)
