Himalayan Cavern was the third room we attempted at Exit Langley that evening. In this scenario, our team travels to the middle of the Himalayan mountains. We step out of the helicopter to explore the area. Everything looks the same as before except for a large cavern entrance near a cliff. We then start to explore the cavern. We liked the scenario, although we felt it was missing a clear goal.
The decor was basic and followed the same layout as all the other rooms at this location. It looked cheap, and some accessories didn’t make sense with the theme. However, the creatures in the third room looked nice. It’s supposed to be a horror-themed room, but it wasn’t really scary. We had to watch a video at the beginning of the game, but it was just text. It could have been an audio recording instead.

The puzzles were inconsistent; some were fun, but others weren’t great. It was a linear room, meaning we could only work on one thing at a time. Most puzzles involved traditional locks. At the end, it was indicated that if we exited the room without completing all the puzzles, it would be considered a fail. The game master came into the room to give hints.
Overall, we found the room okay but not too impressive. We didn’t think anything was particularly scary in the escape room, though the creatures in the last room might be a bit much for young kids. It’s better suited for smaller groups of 2-3 people. We were happy with our performance, as we completed the room with some time to spare and only asked for one hint. We liked it okay and we escaped!
