Ghost of the Lift Lock was the last room we played that day at Lift Lock Escape. In this scenario, something strange is happening at the lift lock… who should we call? This room uses a unique format: instead of one 60-minute escape room, you must complete six small rooms, each with 10 minutes to escape. Unfortunately, we weren’t very impressed with this concept in the end. It felt underwhelming overall. We don’t think they did anything particularly wrong—we just found the experience less fun than a traditional 60-minute room. The scenario itself was also very short and lacked detail, which didn’t help with immersion.

The decor was disappointing. We’re not sure if this is a temporary setup, but it didn’t look like they could do much with the walls or ceiling. It mostly felt like an office decorated for Halloween. In a way, that does match the idea of an office experiencing ghostly activity, but we were really missing a wow factor. Everything felt very basic, and none of the small rooms were connected to each other. Sadly, it wasn’t convincing as a haunted experience. There were a few small elements meant to be jump scares, but overall, the room wasn’t scary at all. That said, we did enjoy the music playing during the game.

Most of the puzzles were fine, but a few felt confusing and not very interesting or logical. All the puzzles were related to the story and theme, and there was a mix of traditional locks and automatic mechanisms. Many puzzles were fairly simple, while a few were more difficult. The story was explained by the game master while walking us to the room. To ask for hints, we had to knock on the door so the game master could come in and help.

Overall, we didn’t really like this room. We’re not sure if it’s because we’re not fans of the concept, the execution, or a combination of both. It’s a family-friendly experience and better suited for small groups of 2–3 people. We’re happy with our performance since we completed all the rooms quickly and only asked for two hints. We didn’t like it but we escaped anyway!
