The Minions was the third room we attempted at Room Escape Atlantic in Moncton. In this scenario, Gru has enlisted the help of Dr. Nefario to train his minions for a special mission. They have one hour to retrieve the jewels and prove to Gru that they have what it takes for the mission. But it turned out to be much more difficult than expected, so hopefully, with our help, they will succeed. We liked the scenario and theme as it was very unique!
The decor was a bit basic but cute. It was a single room decorated with Minions things. Like other escape games with only one room at this location, there was a table in the center and boxes with traditional locks on the wall. Also, music was missing in this game.

The puzzles were fun to solve but a bit simple and predictable. We understand that the room is made for kids though. It’s a linear room with only traditional locks using four-number codes. When we open a lock, we find all the clues for the next puzzle, making everything very predictable. The hints are given over the phone, which is fine.
Overall, we liked the puzzles but were a little disappointed with the decor. It’s the perfect room for kids and better suited for smaller groups of 2-3 people. We were happy with our performance, as we completed the room with a lot of time to spare and only asked for one hint. We liked it and we escaped!
