The Magician’s Heist was the second room we tackled at Eeek Escape Room. In this scenario, we are aspiring magicians who lack imagination and money. We manage to find the home address of Gizmo the Great and plan to steal his book of tricks. We have 1 hour to accomplish our mission before Gizmo comes back home. The scenario is well detailed on the website and is unique!
The decor was nice but seemed a bit damaged and overused. It was only one big room and one tiny room the size of a closet. The Victorian theme was well used in the room, and the purpose of each room was clear. We also thought that the way to enter the first room was brilliant and so original!
The puzzles were fun to solve and all related to the theme. There was a nice variety of logic puzzles, with a good balance between traditional locks, automatic mechanisms, and manipulation games. The hints were given with a walkie-talkie.
Overall, this was a fun room with great puzzles and decor. It’s not scary at all, so kids would probably enjoy this room. It’s better suited for smaller groups of 2-3 people. We are happy with our performance because we completed it with some time to spare and only asked for two hints. We liked it, and we escaped!
