Stuck in the 90’s – Eeek Escape room

Stuck in the 90’s was the first room that we’ve done at Eeek escape room in Glasgow! In this scenario, the lead singer of a famous 90’s boy band’s singer was murdered and we have to find what happened and who the murderer is. The scenario is of course much more detailed on their website. We loved the theme and story of this escape room, we thought it was brilliant! 

The decors were fine but maybe looked a bit cheap. They exploited the theme perfectly with so many 90’s things all around. It was only 1 room and ½ which appeared to be like a recording studio. Although it wasn’t so clear what was the purpose of the first room. It’s not a traditional escape room as the goal isn’t to escape but to find out what happened to the lead singer of the band.

The puzzles were fun to solve and all related to the 90s theme. There was a great balance between traditional locks, automatic mechanisms and manipulation puzzles. The puzzles were fairly easy and probably better suited for families and beginner escape artists. The only downside is that one puzzle wasn’t reset properly as half of the answers were already placed correctly. The hints were given using a walkie talkie which is fine. 

Overall, we liked the room because of the original theme and fun puzzles! We are happy with our performance because we finished with a good time without asking for any hints. We liked it and we escaped!
