We were really excited to come back to Locked for a second evening of escape rooms! We started our evening with Z apocalypse without being too nervous as we knew that the horror factor was lower than the rooms we’ve done the night before.
In this scenario, the story starts when an animal experiment takes a bad turn and a contagious virus spreads in Vancouver. We are one of the survivors and we know that the antidote in hidden in a laboratory. Since the food reserve is almost empty and the number of zombies keeps growing, we are the only hope to save the city.
If you are not comfortable in small spaces and don’t like crawling, this room might not be your favorite. The decors were well done, it felt like we were in a different world infested by zombies. There was also music playing which is always helping with the immersion.

The puzzles were all fun and related to the theme of the room. Moreover, the balance between locks and automatic mechanisms was perfect. Many puzzles were complex and we had to think harder to solve it which is nice.
Regarding the hints, we had to use a walkie talkie if we needed help. Then our game master was coming in the room to help. This isn’t our favorite way of giving hints as it interrupts the immersion.
Overall, this is a great room with nice decors and many unique puzzles! It’s just scary enough so likely older kids or teenagers would like this room. We are happy with our performance because we finished with 5 minutes left. We liked it and we escaped!
