This was our last escape room of the day at this location. We’ve done this one right after CSI: The chopping block (that we really liked) so the bar was high. Unfortunately, we were disappointed.

First of all, we thought that the scenario wasn’t inspiring. Roughly, we needed to escape from Dracula and find the Gem of Elias and escape. It’s also mentioned elsewhere that we woke up in a strange room, a room we didn’t fall asleep in. It said that everything was dark and dusted, that we could feel a haunting presence in the air. No mention or Dracula or the Gem in this version of the scenario. They really wanted to create something scary and creepy but I just find the two different stories confusing. It’s odd to not have written down only one story especially because it would have been easy to combine both and keep it creepy.

The decor was good as it was dark and creepy. We liked the old furnitures and all the vampire theme stuff. The last room was a bit weird as we were not too sure what it was. One thing that disrupted the immersion was all the do not touch stickers that they placed on many objects.

The puzzles were good but we didn’t like them as much as the puzzles in the other rooms we’ve done that day. We solved one of them without understanding why which is something I don’t like. There was a good variety of types of puzzles and they were almost all related to the theme. The flow between puzzles wasn’t so great either.

When we needed hints, the game master was coming inside the room to help. This also disrupt the immersion. There are so many easy options that could have been better than that.

Overall, we didn’t really like it. It was mostly because the scenario was not inspiring and we got frustrated with the flow of the room. It’s dark so could be scary for young kids but it’s not that bad. We escaped but it wasn’t our favorite!
