Our amazing day continues at Défi évasion in Quebec city with the room The workshop of terror. In this scenario, it’s the end of the day so you and your colleagues can leave the toy workshop with peace of mind. We are about to get a drink together when we receive an alarm; the alarm system at the workshop has gone off. We think it’s strange so we decide to go investigate together. From the outside, everything seemed normal but after entering, the door locks behind us. We have to figure this out before something bad happens to us!
Before starting the game, they give us a piece of paper with the introduction story written on it. We thought it was probably not necessary but at the same time, it’s a great reminder of the story. Then, the game master welcomes us playing a character related to the theme. We liked that they decorated the outside of the doors of each themes. The decors were scary and it was very dark. They succeeded at creating realistic decors with a very creepy and stressful ambiance. The immersion was complete and perfect! The final exit is very surprising, we didn’t see that coming at all!

The puzzles are all related to the theme and fun to solve. It was mostly automatic mechanisms and games but with a great variety of logics. It’s a shame that one of the puzzle had a malfunction so the game master had to come in to fix it. The hints were given by the game master through speakers. It startled us a few times throughout the game.
Overall, we highly recommend this escape room as the cohesion between the scenario, decors and puzzles is spot on. But if you don’t like scary themes, this isn’t the room for you. We are happy with our performance as we finished with a good time even if we were terrified. We loved it and we escaped!
