Défi évasion
– Lévis, Quebec, Canada

The Survivors was the last room we did that evening at Défi Évasion in Lévis. In this scenario, two years ago, the T-80 virus was created, quickly spreading and turning humans into monstrous creatures. As part of a group of survivors, we discover a mine in Québec containing minerals crucial for our survival. But time is short, as many creatures are on our trail. The scenario blends a zombie apocalypse with a mine setting. We appreciated the detailed storyline and clear objective.

The decor was well-done and realistic, with clever use of space that matched the storyline perfectly. Even the outside of the door was decorated to fit the theme. The game master greeted us in character, playing a role that continued throughout the game.

The puzzles were fun to solve and related to the theme and story, with a perfect balance between traditional locks, automatic mechanisms, and manipulation puzzles. It’s a non linear room which means that we could do multiple puzzles at the same time. The puzzles were also inspired by real mining facts in Quebec, adding realism to the game. Hints were provided through audio, with the game master offering help when needed while playing a character related to the story.

Overall, we loved this room for its amazing story, decor, and puzzles. It might be too scary for kids due to a few jump scares and is better suited for groups of four. We were pleased with our performance, escaping with only two hints. We loved it and we escaped!
