This escape room was the first one that we’ve done at Time escape. In this scenario, as one of the last great warriors left, we are mandated to enter the castle of Amawick and find the spell book and the lost sword. They will help us kill the last dragon Akar which will result in the end of the war that has been going on forever between humans and Akar. I think that this is a good classic scenario.

Unfortunately, the immersion wasn’t great in this escape room. At the beginning, we were asked to put blinded glasses and listen to the introduction. Then the employee told us to take the glasses off and he kept explaining stuff like what not to touch or move. I understand why giving warnings but it’s too late after the introduction as it completely interrupts the flow of the game.

The decors were nice and well done but we weren’t that impress either. Puzzles were fun to solve and just complicated enough. One mechanical puzzle wasn’t working well so it was annoying and made us waste some time.

The way to give hints isn’t great as you call them with the intercom and the game master comes in to help you. We even called them once and they never came, we wasted time there too. We didn’t finish in time but they were nice enough to give us some extra minutes. Another annoying thing is that the employee was resetting the first room while we were finishing the second room. That really wasn’t fun.

Overall, the puzzles and decor were fine but the immersion was terrible which left us with a bad memory of this room. Maybe we were just not lucky with the game master we were assigned to that night. Basically, the problem wasn’t the room itself but the experience around it. It’s a family friendly room and perfect for a small group of beginners. We didn’t like it and we almost escaped!
