The Lab Lockdown was the only room we tried that day at Revo Escape. In this scenario, we’ve been in a prison for a while. My fellow prisoners and I don’t know why we’re here—we all remember going for a job interview, then the room filled with gas, and the next thing we knew, we were locked up. I recall something more than the others: waking up on a cold operating table with people standing over me. I have scars and needle marks all over my body. This morning, Steven started screaming. The guard tried to calm him, but he turned into a beast and managed to escape. Suddenly, an alarm rang and announced we had 80 minutes to evacuate the laboratory. The scenario is very detailed on the website and clearly sets the objective. We also liked the mysterious tone of the story.

The set design was excellent and very realistic. The space was large and filled with objects and accessories. related to the theme and story. We were impressed by the level of detail and how well the atmosphere was created for this game. Even though there were no jump scares or live actors, Sophie and I were genuinely scared, mostly because the game master was so serious—we couldn’t tell if she was acting or if it was just her natural tone, which added to the tension. We also appreciated the background music, which helped maintain the tense ambiance.

This game is unique because there are no traditional puzzles to solve. Instead, you have to figure out how to escape in a logical, realistic way—just like if you were truly imprisoned. You search for objects, explore, and improvise your escape plan. Since puzzles are my favorite part of escape rooms, I have to admit this concept wasn’t for me. But Gaël really enjoyed it, and I’m sure many people will too. The story unfolds throughout the game, and it’s important to pay attention to the intro video. You even have to figure something out at the end and report it to the game master to successfully escape. Hints were given via walkie-talkie.

Overall, we were very impressed with the level of immersion, even if the concept wasn’t personally my favorite. It might be too intense for young kids, but if they’re brave, they could still enjoy it. We think it’s best for groups of 4. We were happy with our performance because we completed the room with time to spare and only needed one hint. Sophie and I didn’t love the concept, but Gaël did—and we escaped!
