Our day continues at Level 1 in Calgary with The Inside Job. In this scenario, you are spies tasked with countering bioterrorist threats worldwide. Recent breakthroughs at DRDC Corp. have resulted in the deaths of civilians and experiments aimed at perfecting genetically enhanced soldiers have taken place. With your code name “Project Asimov,” it’s up to you to secure the formula used for the experimentation and bring it back to our laboratories to destroy it immediately. Their building’s security has been bypassed: you will have 1 hour to obtain the formula and escape from the facility. Be careful, trust no one, as the company you work for suspects a member of your team to be a traitor…This is a great and classic scenario and we liked the traitor twist at the end.
Before starting the escape game, they play a video to explain the story. The decors were beautiful and realistic, resembling a real laboratory. However, they could have added more furniture and decorative accessories to make it even more complete. There were more than one room, which is a positive point.

The puzzles were generally okay: some were original, while others left us unsure if we had the right answer. They were all related to the theme and they mainly consisted of traditional locks and manipulation games. There were many puzzles at the beginning of the escape game, but as we progressed, there were fewer in terms of quantity. It felt like they ran out of ideas along the way. Clues were given using an iPad at the entrance of the room. We really didn’t like this method because we many hints turned out to be useless.
Overall, we were not too impressed with this room as the decors were a bit basic and the puzzle weren’t that great. But it could good room for families and beginners because it’s not too difficult. We are very satisfied with our performance as we completed it in a good time and using only 1 clue. We liked it okay and we escaped!
