The Diamond Heist was the second room we completed that evening at Jigsaw in Quebec City. In this scenario, we’re part of an elite crime syndicate responsible for many high-end robberies. Our last job was worth $10,000,000 in diamonds. Everything went according to plan until our partner double-crossed us and took all the diamonds. We’ve tracked down his safehouse, and now we have to break in and take everything he’s got! We liked the scenario because it’s well-detailed and has a clear goal!

The decor was nice but felt a bit basic. It gave off more of a police station vibe than that of a criminal’s safehouse. We did appreciate that there were multiple rooms in this game. However, our game master wasn’t great—he seemed annoyed to be there and wasn’t enthusiastic at all. Maybe we were just unlucky that evening, and other game masters have more energy and passion.

The puzzles were fun to solve but fairly simple. They mostly involved traditional locks with a few automatic mechanisms. We enjoyed the variety of puzzles and the fact that they were related to the theme. However, one of the automatic mechanisms didn’t work, causing the door to the second room to open too early, which mixed things up. The room is also non-linear which is always what we prefer. The game master provided hints through a walkie-talkie.

Overall, we thought the room was okay but felt they could have done more with the decor. It’s a family-friendly room, better suited for groups of 2-3 people. We’re happy with our performance as we completed the room with plenty of time to spare and didn’t ask for any hints. We thought it was okay and we escaped!
