Secrets in the attic was the third room we did that evening at Room Escape Atlantic. In this scenario, many secrets lie within the homes of a quiet suburban neighbourhood in Pennsylvania. One house has received a lot of attention lately due to noises coming from the attic. What we will find will leave us breathless. We think the scenario is a bit generic, lacking a unique twist and a clear goal.
The decor was basic but well done. There’s nothing on the walls, but they cleverly placed furniture and accessories in a way that makes it look like we are in an attic. They did a great job creating an unsettling atmosphere. There are no jump scares, so it’s not that scary, just a bit creepy. The only thing missing was music.

The puzzles were fun to solve and all related to the theme. It’s a linear room, so we could only work on one puzzle at a time. Only traditional locks with four digits or letters are used in this room. When we open something, all the clues for the next puzzles are there, and there are even instructions on what to do at times. This made the whole room a bit too predictable. Hints were given via phone, which was fine.
Overall, we liked the room because the puzzles were fun and the decor was fine. The ambiance is a bit creepy, so kids might be scared, but it’s not too bad. It’s better suited for smaller groups of 2-3 people. We are happy with our performance as we completed the room with time to spare and didn’t ask for any hints. We liked it, and we escaped!
