Swiftie Escape was the second game we played that day at Trivia Escape Room. This location has a very unique concept that combines escape rooms with trivia challenges. As a result, this game is clearly designed for Taylor Swift fans. None of us are particularly big Swifties, but we were still able to solve most of the puzzles on our own, and the game master only had to help us twice when we were completely stuck. Because the rooms are based on current themes and are updated regularly, we expected the decor to be a bit simpler than what you would find in a traditional escape room.
As mentioned, the decor was fairly basic and somewhat rough around the edges. It is easy to understand why, considering the location likely has a quick turnaround between themes and probably does not have the largest budget for set design. Despite that, we could clearly see all the references to Taylor Swift, and we thought they did a good job working within the space they had available. The room successfully captured the theme, and we especially enjoyed the music playing throughout the game, which really helped set the mood and added to the experience.

The puzzles were fun to solve and generally quite easy, especially for anyone familiar with Taylor Swift and her music. The room was linear, so we worked on one puzzle at a time. In our opinion, there could have been a few more puzzles, as we moved through the game fairly quickly despite not being dedicated fans. As expected, the room relied entirely on traditional locks. Hints were provided by the game master through a walkie-talkie system.
Overall, we enjoyed the room because the puzzles were fun, the theme was unique, and the experience offered something different from a traditional escape room. It is a family-friendly game that is best suited for smaller groups of two to three players. We were happy with our performance, as we completed the room quickly and only needed help twice. We liked it, and we escaped!
