Sin City was the only room we tried at Aventure live escape game in Nice. In this scenario, a gritty city steeped in corruption has been sealed by the mafia, and we have 60 minutes to escape before the police arrive. We found the scenario too short and lacking in details or a unique twist. It felt very basic and not particularly creative. The game master also didn’t introduce the story before starting, which made it harder to get into the atmosphere.

The decor was quite disappointing. It was a single small room painted entirely black, with only a few pieces of furniture and random objects vaguely connected to the theme. Nothing really made sense in the room—we couldn’t tell where we were supposed to be or what kind of space it represented. The setup felt more like an unfinished space than an immersive environment. Many props were damaged or worn out, and the overall atmosphere lacked depth. With such a promising theme, they could have created something much more visually striking and coherent. The only positive point was the music playing during the game, which added a tiny bit of ambiance, but everything else felt empty and disconnected.

Most of the puzzles were fun but not really connected to the theme or story. There was definitely more creativity in the puzzles than in the decor. It was a mix of traditional locks and automatic mechanisms, but no manipulation games. Some puzzles were slightly more challenging, though most were on the easier side. Hints were given by the game master whenever he decided we needed one—he would slip a pre-written note under the door. We didn’t like that we couldn’t ask for hints ourselves.

Overall, we didn’t enjoy this room much, mainly because the decor was too basic and the puzzles needed improvement. It’s not scary at all and better suited for small groups of 2–3 people. We’re happy with our performance since we completed the room quickly with two hints. We didn’t love it—but we escaped!
