I’m a huge fan of Harry Potter so I was very excited to do this escape room. In this scenario, we are in need of a secret ingredient that the potion master has. And in order to get his permission, we need to make a potion that he doesn’t have time to make. We have one hour to complete the potion and bring a sample to the potion master. We liked the scenario especially because it was implying that we would have to make an actual potion!

We started the escape room without any story beforehand which is always a bit disappointing. Decors are well done, with many objects and accessories making solving the puzzles much more challenging. They’ve used well the Harry potter theme with many little hints here and there about the book.

As mentioned earlier, the puzzles are all related to the theme and there’s a good variety of mechanisms. This room isn’t linear with a lot of puzzles which is always great for bigger groups. Having to make an actual potion was so much fun and so unique!

The hints are given by having the game master come into the room and help us. That’s too bad as it really breaks the immersion. We didn’t finish in time but we were allowed to take some extra time to finish. We finished in 65 min instead which isn’t too bad considering how many puzzles there were. We lost too much time with the first puzzle which was probably the easiest, we are still feeling very stupid to this day!

It’s definitely family friendly although some objects may be out of reach to children. We recommend this room to a group of 3-4 semi-experienced escape artists. We want to give an honorable mention to the originality of one of the puzzle! We loved it and we escaped!
