We continue our evening with Pirate of the Caribbean at Exit in Abbotsford. In this scenario, Jack Sparrow, one of the most famous pirate in the world, disappeared completely out of nowhere. Some people say that he died during a treasure hunt and others say that his ship rocked during a storm. Nobody knows the truth but we might be the one to find out. One day, we find a treasure map that shows where Blackbeard’s treasure is hidden. The most interesting part of this map is that it has Jack Sparrow’s signature on it. Will you be able to find the treasure and Jack? Or are we going to be another victim of Blackbeard’s curse?

The decors were beautiful and realistic and there were a couple surprising and unique elements to it. On the other hand, we thought that the rooms were a bit empty, there could have been more accessories in each rooms. We also liked that there was music playing which is always bringing the immersion to the next level.

This room was linear which means that we could only work on one puzzle at a time. It was also only automatic mechanisms so no traditional locks or manipulation puzzles. We prefer when there’s a better balance between these three techniques. Also, we managed to solve some puzzles without knowing exactly what we did. For the hints, the game master was entering the room to help us. We don’t like this way of giving hints because it interrupts the immersion.

Overall, we aren’t too happy with our performance as we managed to finish but we had to ask for a few hints. It’s a great room for families and/or small groups of less experienced escape artists. We liked it and we escaped!
