Our day continues with Mission Antarctica at The Locked Room Southland in Calgary. In this scenario, a research center in Antarctica has discovered a DNA-altering crystal named “The Enigmite,” which has the power to change the world as we know it. Amidst an internal coup d’état, the facility has been abandoned, and it is now up to you to break in and retrieve the crystal before the ice shelf collapses.

The set designs were nice but a little basic. It felt like something was missing to have a complete immersion in this game. We were also hoping for more rooms. On the other hand, the entrance to the second room was well hidden and it completely surprised us!

The puzzles were all related to the theme and diverse. There was a nice balance between traditional locks and automatic puzzles. Some puzzles from the second required us to go back to the first room. We really enjoyed solving the puzzles! However, we weren’t fond of the game master entering the room to give hints; it’s not our preferred method.

Overall, we recommend trying this escape room because it’s worth it just for the puzzles. It’s suitable for families as well. We are very satisfied with our performance as we finished the room with a good time and without asking for hints. We liked it and we escaped!
