Mr. Newton was the second room we did that evening at À Double Tour. In this scenario, our neighbour, Mr. Newton, is making a lot of noise at night in his garage, making it impossible for us to sleep. We can see weird lights and hear strange sounds coming from his garage, so he’s surely not an ordinary man. Is he a mad scientist? We have to find out! The scenario is well-detailed and mysterious, with a clear goal.

The decor was well done but not as impressive as other rooms at À Double Tour. It consisted of one big room with a small closet. The theme was clear, and all the machines were quite impressive. We felt that the lack of music affected the ambiance of the game. However, we really appreciated that the game master welcomed us in character, related to the story.

The puzzles were fun to solve and most of them were related to the theme and story. It was a mix of traditional locks and automatic mechanisms. We liked that as we progressed with the puzzles, we learned more about the story. It was a non-linear room, allowing us to work on multiple puzzles simultaneously. To ask for hints, we would call the game master with a phone, and he would answer in character, just like during the introduction.

Overall, we thought the room was okay, but it’s not our favorite at À Double Tour. The puzzles were fun, but we were a little disappointed with the decor and the number of rooms. It’s a family-friendly room and better suited for small groups of 2-3 people. We were happy with our performance because we completed the room with time to spare and only asked for one hint. We liked it okay, and we escaped!
