Jurassic Lab was the third room we did at Room Escape Atlantic in Moncton. In this scenario, we are a group of paleontologists chosen to travel to Isla Nublar, the home of the now-abandoned Jurassic Park. Rumors say that an illegal lab is still functioning, so our mission is to investigate. The mad scientist never left after the lab closed and has been breeding dinosaurs from a DNA sample. Our mission is to find the genetic code and return it to the Smithsonian. But it won’t be easy, as an army of dinosaurs is guarding the island. We liked the scenario as it’s well-detailed and has a clear goal.

The decors were nice but a bit basic. The first room was slightly empty, and we thought they could have added more things and have done more in general with the space they have. The lab looked great, but the last room was missing a purpose and looked empty as well. We liked that this game had multiple rooms and the flow of the room matched the storyline. The immersion would also have been better if music was playing.

The puzzles were fun to solve and more varied than other rooms we’ve done at this location. It was only traditional locks with either four-digit codes or four letters. The puzzles were all related to the theme. The only downside is that we were always looking for the same kind of code. The hints were given using a phone, which is fine.

Overall, we liked the room because the puzzles were fun and there were multiple rooms. It’s a family-friendly room and better suited for smaller groups of 2-3 people. We are happy with our performance because we completed the room with good time and didn’t ask for any hints. We liked it and we escaped!
