Escape reality
– Glasgow, Scotland

Conspiracy was the second room we did at Escape Reality in Glasgow. In this scenario, we arrive at our friend’s apartment. Our friend was always fascinated by aliens, but upon arriving, it’s clear that things have gotten out of hand. He was probably abducted by aliens. We have to find out the truth before it’s too late. We liked the scenario as it’s well detailed and has a clear goal. The game master told us the story before entering the room. He then entered the room with us and explained some rules specific to the room, which is something we don’t like.

The decor was nice but lacked finishing touches and attention to detail. For example, the ceiling was falling apart, and the pipes were attached with velcro on the wall. The way to enter the second room was the exact same as in the prison escape room at this location, so it was disappointing. We also thought that the second room didn’t make sense with the storyline.

The puzzles were fun but maybe a bit simple. We were not too impressed with the puzzles in the first and second rooms but liked them better in the third room. The balance of traditional locks, automatic mechanisms, and manipulation puzzles was great. The hints were given with an iPad, which basically just gave the answers.

Overall, we liked the room okay but were not too impressed with the decor and some of the puzzles. It’s a family-friendly room and better suited for groups of 2-3 people. We are happy with our performance, as we completed the room with a good time and only asked for one hint. We liked it okay, and we escaped!
