Boom Room was the third room we did that day at Room Escape Ottawa. In this scenario, a mysterious tip has led our team to the bunker of our enemy, Dr. Boom. The fate of the world is in our hands—we need to venture into the bunker, steal the plans, and escape in time. The scenario is fine with a clear goal, though it feels a bit generic and is missing details.

The decor was good, featuring multiple large rooms! We appreciated the attention to details, and we thought that hey also looked quite realistic. While the theme was clear, the purpose of each room wasn’t immediately obvious. We thought that they used the space wisely and we also enjoyed the music playing throughout the game.

The puzzles were fun to solve and really creative! They were all related to the theme and the flow of the puzzles matched the storyline perfectly. It was mostly traditional locks with a few automatic mechanisms. We appreciated the variety, and we particularly liked one multi-step puzzle in the second room. Hints were given by the game master with a walkie-talkie, which is fine!

Overall, we enjoyed the room because the puzzles were fun, and the decor looked great! It’s a family-friendly room, better suited for smaller groups of 2-3 people. We’re happy with our performance, as we completed the room with time to spare and only needed two hints. We liked it, and we escaped!
