This room was our last one of the day (3 of 3)! Locked is describing it as a horror movie simulation. We were already nervous because of the previous rooms that we’ve just done and we were right as it had a few jump scares.
The serial killer, responsible of a mass murder at the asylum is on the run and we, the police investigator, finally found his creepy lair after years of research. We are in charge of catching this murderer but he is very smart and kidnapped a police officer. Something that was supposed to be fairly simple has become complex: we have to choose between saving our friend or stopping the killer.
Indeed, we had to choose between 2 scenarios so we decided to save our friend. We had to have one of us starting in the second room so we could only communicate with a talkie walkie for the first 15min of the game. The set design was realistic and creepy, Gael who was alone in the second room was looking forward to our arrival.
There was a nice variety of mechanisms and all were related to the theme. The first few puzzles had to be done by collaborating between the two rooms. There’s a good balance between locks and automatic puzzles.
The way to get hints wasn’t great as we had to call for a hint in the talkie walkie and the game master would come in the room to help. But our game master was very passionate and funny!
In summary, we recommend doing this escape room as there weren’t many negative things to say about it. It’s just scary enough without being completely terrifying. Scary escape rooms always bring the best memories in my opinion because we laugh about ourselves afterwards. We are satisfied with our performance but we did finish really last minute.
