Alice was the fourth room we played that day at Escaparium in Montreal. In this scenario, we must help Alice find the Hatter’s hat so that he can regain his power and return to his true self. The scenario is described in more detail on their website, with clever tongue twisters that perfectly fit the whimsical Alice in Wonderland theme—we thought that was a fun and creative touch!

The decor was absolutely stunning, with a brilliant transition between the first and second rooms. The attention to detail and finishing touches was impeccable. As always, Escaparium Montreal impressed us with their creativity and immersive design. Every room had a clear purpose and made us feel fully transported into Alice’s fantastical world. There’s also a very clever way of introducing the story before the game starts, but we won’t spoil it! The background music during the game added to the immersion nicely.

The puzzles were enjoyable and well themed around Alice in Wonderland. It was mostly traditional locks with a few automatic mechanisms. While we found that there weren’t that many puzzles, some were fairly challenging. One puzzle in particular was confusing—we solved it without really knowing how, which is always a bit frustrating. Still, we liked that it was a non-linear room, allowing us to work on multiple puzzles at once. Hints were delivered by a character mascot in the room, which added humor and fit the theme well, though we felt the help came a bit too quickly, sometimes nearly giving us the full answer.

Overall, we enjoyed this room—the decor and immersion were outstanding, and the puzzles were fun but we wanted more. It’s a family-friendly room, although some puzzles might be tricky for younger children. We think it’s best suited for groups of 2–3 people. We’re happy with our performance, as we completed the room with plenty of time left and only asked for one hint. We liked it—and we escaped!
