Exit

The last room we tried at Exit in Calgary was ‘The Wizard’s Curse.’ In this scenario, we are students at the only magic school in Calgary. Malevolent forces have attempted to infiltrate the school, and the headmaster has tried to destroy the cursed item but mysteriously disappeared before succeeding. It’s up to us to find it and destroy it.

The scenario has a clear goal and is well-detailed on the website. The decor was nice, and it had multiple rooms. We especially liked all the accessories that reminded us of Harry Potter! We enjoyed the music played during the game, and our game master was very enthusiastic and delivered the story perfectly!

The puzzles were fun to solve and all related to the theme. The balance between automatic mechanisms, traditional locks, and manipulation puzzles was great. While most puzzles were fairly easy to solve, they were very clever! For hints, we could call the game master using a button, and he would come in the room to help us.

Overall, we liked this escape room because the decor was nice, and the puzzles were fun to solve. It’s not scary, so it’s family-friendly, and we think it’s better suited for groups of 2-3 people. We are happy with our performance because we finished with a great time and only asked for 1 hint. We liked it, and we escaped!
