The “Time Machine” was the third room we experienced at Mind Hack Room Escape in Halifax. In this scenario, we were transported to the 1980s, where Professor Winston Burton’s time machine had fallen into the wrong hands. Our mission was to rectify history and uncover secrets as we raced against the clock to save the Professor and preserve history itself. While the theme was unique and engaging, we felt that the scenario could have been even more detailed.

The decor was well-crafted and aligned perfectly with the theme. However, we found ourselves longing for a bit more of a “wow” factor, and it was somewhat unclear what the purpose of the first room was. Nevertheless, the transition between rooms flowed seamlessly and contributed effectively to the storyline. We appreciated the overall concept of the rooms and scenario, especially how the 80s theme was brought to life through various accessories and music.

The puzzles were all related to the theme and were fun to solve. It was mostly traditional locks and some automatic mechanisms. The difficulty level of the puzzles was just right, offering a nice balance of challenge and logic. One puzzle, in particular, stood out as it perfectly complemented the theme and was brilliantly designed. Hints were provided via a screen, and the game master offered assistance upon request or if they sensed we were falling behind.

Overall, “Time Machine” is a fantastic room with a unique scenario and entertaining puzzles. It’s suitable for families and ideal for groups of 2-3 people. We were happy with our performance, finishing with a good time and only requiring one hint. We liked it and we escaped!
