Our evening at The Locked Room Northeast in Calgary ends with Mutiny of the High Seas. In this scenario, you are a pirate and you have recently expressed some concerns about the pirate ship to your captain, Blackbeard. In hindsight, it wasn’t a good idea, as he commands his ship with harsh and violent authority. Now, you and other members of the crew are locked in a cell for questioning the captain’s tyranny. You must find a way to free yourselves from your chains and escape from this cursed ship, or else it will be the plank for all of you.
Before starting the escape game, we listened to an audio introduction to contextualize ourselves with the scenario. The decors were nice, but we would have liked if there were more rooms than that. There was music from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. The immersion was good for this room, but it lacked details in the decorations for it to be complete.

The puzzles were varied and original. They were not linear, so we could work on several at the same time. There were many traditional locks and some automatic puzzles. Unfortunately, there was one puzzle that we didn’t understand the logic of, even when the game master explained it to us. The game master entered the room to give us hints, and we really don’t like this method.
Overall, we enjoyed this escape game because the decors were beautiful and the puzzles were fun to solve. It’s not scary at all so it’s perfect for families. We are satisfied with our performance because we finished with a good time, asking for only 2 hints. We liked it and we escaped!
