This room was the last one that we have done at this location. Exit Gastown took over the rental of Smarty pants after they closed and Exit reuses their decors for the rooms. In this scenario, you hear rumours about a bakery on 49th street and their unique meat pies. With our friends, we decide to go taste the famous pies but after the last bite, the room goes dark and we wake up in the basement. We need to find a way out fast as the basement is filled with missing person newspaper clippings and a strange smell.

The decors were nice but again it’s exactly the same as Smarty Pantz’s decor. But if you haven’t been to Smarty pantz before, you likely find it fairly impressive especially one furniture. As with all of the other rooms at the location, the game master is telling us the story orally. For this one, our game master was so into it, it was very funny!

The puzzles this time had a great balance between logic, automatic mechanisms and manipulation puzzles. They were very easy as we finished fairly quickly beating the previous best time. It can be a very good first room for less experienced escape artists. The puzzles weren’t really related to the story which is a shame. We did like to have to carry clues from one room to another and figure out when was the good time to use these clues.

For the hints, the game master will enter the room and help us where we are stuck. Which isn’t our favorite way of giving hints.

Overall, it’s a good room for less experienced escape artists. If you have done many, you will probably be bored and out in no time. It’s a bit creepy but not really scary. We liked it and we escaped!
