2002: A Bovine Odyssey is the only room we tried that day at Cabinet Mysteriis. In this scenario, it’s the distant future—2002—and we are awakened in the middle of the night by strange lights and noises. We rush to the window, only to witness our beloved cow, Marguerite, being kidnapped by an extraterrestrial spacecraft. We decide to build a rocket out of a grain silo and go rescue Marguerite! We loved the scenario; it’s so unique and funny! It’s detailed enough, and the goal is clear.
The decor was quite impressive and realistic. We’ve never seen anything like it before, and we thought they were incredibly creative with the design. It’s a multi-room escape game with very unique ways of traveling between rooms. The game master explained the rules and story just before we entered the room.

The puzzles in this room are mostly task-oriented and guided by the game master. The majority of them involve manipulation puzzles or placing objects in specific locations. We felt that the game master was giving us too much information too quickly, which reduced the challenge. We would have preferred to think a little longer before being helped. Additionally, many puzzles seemed random, lacking logical connections. Hints were provided through live audio by the game master, who played a character related to the story. We didn’t have to ask for help; they assisted whenever they felt it was necessary.
Overall, we were very impressed with the decor but weren’t as enthusiastic about the puzzles. It’s a family-friendly room, better suited for smaller groups of 2-3. We weren’t too happy with our performance because the game master helped too much, but we did complete the room with some time to spare. We liked it okay, and we escaped!
