We went to Xcape Rooms in Glasgow in February 2023 and tried two of their rooms. Overall, we had mixed feelings about the experience. The decor was nice and visually appealing, but the rooms were very small, and there was a noticeable gap between the walls and ceiling, so we could hear everything happening in the other rooms.

We felt that the connection between the story and the decor wasn’t very strong. Some elements didn’t make much sense—like in the Harry Potter room, the scenario says we start chained up in a prison, but that’s not how it begins at all. We also found it odd that they used unrelated music, such as Mario Bros and The Nutcracker, in that room.

The puzzles were fun but not particularly memorable. It’s a mix of traditional locks and automatic mechanisms, and hints are provided through a walkie-talkie, which worked fine. The two rooms we tried were definitely not wheelchair accessible.

They seem to offer a mix of family-friendly and scary themes. The customer service was great, though, and we’d be curious to try more rooms today to see if they’ve improved!
