Our morning continues with Me at Mayze in Scarborough. In this scenario, your life is ordinary, but your love for your wife has made it extraordinary. You have cherished simple moments together, finding happiness in each other’s company. Life seemed simple… or was it really? The storyline is intriguing and original. However, the goal is unclear and remains so throughout the game.
Before starting the escape room, the game master introduces the story of the room. Overall, the decor is plain and is missing cohesion and impact. There are several large spaces, but they feel half-empty, and it’s unclear how they relate to the theme. The rooms are also quite dark. At least there is background music to help set the mood. The concept itself had potential, but unfortunately, it is poorly executed and lacks polish. As a result, the immersion is not well achieved in this room.

There aren’t many puzzles in this escape room, and not all of them connect to the theme. The game follows a linear structure, so you cannot solve multiple puzzles at once. Most challenges involve automated mechanisms, with a few traditional locks. Some puzzles do not function properly and require physical force to complete. Additionally, the logic behind certain puzzles doesn’t make sense. One puzzle involves using the same objects in the same way twice, which we didn’t think was interesting. Hints are provided via walkie-talkie, but the game master does not take on a character related to the theme.
Overall, we unfortunately did not enjoy this escape room, as there was nothing particularly exciting about it. We also do not recommend it for children, as the theme is dark and the puzzles wouldn’t be fun for them. It’s best suited for a small group of 2-3 people. We completed the room with a good time but needed four hints. We didn’t like it, but we did escape!
