Pipes and a Princess was the second room we did at Ichabod’s Escape that afternoon. In this scenario, we had to collect stars, solve levels, crawl through pipes, and save the princess to win the game. While it’s not a traditional story, it perfectly captures the spirit of the Mario Bros. games.

The decor was amazing and truly made us feel like we were inside a Mario Bros. game. The navigation between rooms was cleverly designed, and the unique layout of each room added to the experience. We had to climb and crawl, which fit the theme and story perfectly and made it ideal for kids. The puzzles were seamlessly integrated into the decor, and the flow between the rooms and puzzles was great. The music playing during the game also enhanced the immersion, making it next-level.

The puzzles were fun to solve, though they were mostly games rather than traditional puzzles. There were no traditional locks; it was all automatic mechanisms and manipulation puzzles. The puzzles were fairly easy to solve, usually only requiring one step, which makes sense for a family-friendly room. Despite their simplicity, they often required a couple of people to solve. All the puzzles were related to the theme, and it was a linear room. Hints were given via walkie-talkie.

Overall, we loved this room because the decor, immersion, and puzzles were fantastic. We definitely recommend it because we had so much fun. It’s 100% family-friendly and better suited for groups of 2-3 people. We were happy with our performance because we completed the room with time to spare and only asked for one hint. We loved it and we escaped!
