Once Upon a Time was the first room we did at Omventure in Markham. In this scenario, the forest fairy summoned everyone for a grand celebration. Everyone is invited, so we have to gather all the guests to ensure the party is a success. Traveling through the enchanted forest, we encounter everyone from a princess to a villain and have to prevent the latter from sabotaging the party. The scenario is well-detailed with a clear goal, but it feels a bit generic to me.
The decor was beautiful and cute! It was one big room with two tiny rooms built inside. There were two things that didn’t make sense to us. One side seemed to be inside a house, and the other part was outside, but there weren’t any walls to separate them. Also, it was quite dark in the room, which didn’t make sense for a family-friendly room. We wish it had more light so we could enjoy the decor better!

The puzzles were fine but mostly involved placing objects in the right spots. It was a linear room with some audio between each puzzle, so the flow was very slow. We always had to wait before moving on. It only had automatic mechanisms, and the puzzles were all related to the theme. We received hints from the game master via a walkie-talkie.
Overall, we liked the room but wished it was brighter and that the puzzles were more varied. It’s a family-friendly room better suited for groups of 2 people. We were happy with our performance because we completed the room with time to spare and only asked for one hint. We liked it okay, and we escaped!
