The Ice Cave was the first room we played at Daydream Adventures on May 18th, 2024. In this scenario, a meteorite has struck the Danforth, opening portals to strange and magical worlds. The second of these portals leads to an icy cave—an abandoned temple where ancient artifacts are frozen in time. A magical creature is trapped inside, and as we explore, we begin to uncover a darker tale lurking beneath the surface. We liked this scenario because it’s well detailed and mysterious
The decors were absolutely stunning—beautiful, realistic, and incredibly artistic. We loved that the company encourages players to interact with the environment, describing it as a work of art meant to be touched as well as seen (gently, of course!). Every detail, special effect, and finishing touch felt intentional and thoughtful. The music added to the ambiance and made the entire experience even more immersive.

The puzzles were fun and well integrated into the story. This room is a guided adventure, meaning we had to pause between each puzzles while a character completed their narrative interventions. All the puzzles were based on automatic mechanisms, with no traditional locks. One puzzle in particular allowed for an 80% success rate to be considered complete, which we found a bit odd—it might make more sense to adjust the difficulty so players must complete it entirely. Hints were provided via walkie talkie, which worked fine but wasn’t especially immersive.
Overall, we enjoyed this room because the decor was breathtaking, and the puzzles were entertaining and well connected to the story. While the guided format isn’t our favorite style of gameplay, it was handled thoughtfully and may appeal to families or newer players. This room is family friendly and ideal for groups of 2-3 people. We’re happy with our performance—we completed the room with a good time and only asked for two hints. We had a great time and we escaped!
