Great Western Bank Heist was the last room we attempted at Mind Hack Room Escape in Halifax! In this scenario, we’ve been hired by a rich rancher who needs important documents stored at the Great Western Bank inside safety deposit boxes. A guy who works there left clues to help us navigate the bank. We have to find the documents, locate the keys, and blow up the bank if we want to get paid! This is a great scenario that is well-detailed and has a clear goal. The story is only shared in the booking section of their website, so initially, I thought there wasn’t any scenario for each room.
The decor was well done and realistic, but we thought it looked a bit empty and incomplete. It was missing some furniture and accessories. We liked that the flow of the room matched the storyline perfectly. We also enjoyed the music playing during the game!

The puzzles were fun to solve and had a good level of difficulty. The balance between traditional locks and automatic mechanisms was perfect. They were all related to the theme and story. The clues are found randomly and won’t necessarily be needed right away, which is great because it makes things a little less obvious. The hints are given on a screen in the room, which is fine.
Overall, we liked the room as the decor and puzzles were great. It’s a family-friendly room better suited for groups of 2-3 people. We were happy with our performance, as we completed the room with a lot of time to spare and only asked for one hint. We liked it and we escaped!
