The Academy was the first room we did at Think Tank Escape Rooms! In this scenario, as members of a supernatural society, the principal of the Lunenburg Academy contacted us to investigate abnormal activities in their classrooms. They believe the spirit of a young girl is haunting the place. Will we be successful in releasing her spirit? This is a good scenario with a clear goal. They have based this scenario on real rumors and a real location. I think this is brilliant idea!

The decor was well done. Unfortunately, it was just one room, but given the size of the building, they probably couldn’t do anything bigger. They captured the historic classroom style perfectly. However, we could see some yellow tape and cables sticking out, which revealed the automated elements. We also liked the background sound and special effects they used in the room.

The puzzles were fun to solve and all related to the theme. It was mostly traditional locks with a few automatic mechanisms. We later realized that we had to be attentive to the audio as it gave hints here and there. Additionally, the goal of the game isn’t to escape but to find a large key. If we needed extra hints, we pressed a button to receive the hint on a TV.

Overall, it’s a fun room with good decor and puzzles. It’s slightly scary and creepy, so young kids would probably be scared, but it’s not extreme at all. It’s better suited for smaller groups of 2-3 people. We are happy with our performance as we completed the room with some time to spare and only asked for two hints. We liked it, and we escaped!
