We continue our day at Time Escape in Edmonton with Castle Secrets. In this scenario, the tales speak of a castle filled with countless treasures lost for centuries. You and your team of archaeologists manage to find it through a crack in time. During a hike through the woods, the ground collapses and you find yourselves in one of the corridors of the legendary building. This secret castle resembles nothing you’ve seen before, containing hidden arts and craftsmanship. However, legend has it that those who entered became lost in their greed and searched immensely until they eventually disappeared. Find your way out before being overwhelmed by your inner greed! This is a great detailed scenario with a clear goal!
There are several rooms in this escape game. The decors are okay, but we were not too impressed either. It lacks realism and it’s missing a wow factor. There’s no music, and we can even hear people talking at the Time Escape entrance. The immersion wasn’t that great because of the noise and decor.
The puzzles are okay, but none of them were memorable. The puzzles have a good balance of traditional locks, automatic mechanisms, and manipulation games. However, there’s one puzzle that wasted our time, and we were not impressed with the solution. To give hints, the game master will enter in the room, and we really don’t like this method.
Overall, this is an okay room but not our favorite because of the decors and puzzles. It’s a family friendly room that is better suited for smaller groups of 2-3. We’re not happy with our performance because we didn’t succeed even after asking for 1 hint. We liked it okay and we didn’t escape!
