The last room that we’ve done at The Locked Room Northeast in Calgary is The Quizzler’s Revenge. In this scenario, a mega bomb has disappeared from the Starr Laboratories! In place of this bomb, there is a purple question mark surrounded by the words: ‘tick, tock, and tick…’. It’s clearly the work of The Quizzler. Find and retrieve the bomb before it is activated and kills millions of people! We liked the scenario as it has a unique twist and it’s well detailed!
Before starting the escape game, we listened to an audio introduction and a video explaining the scenario. We thought it was a bit long but we understand that it’s to make sure the goal is clear. The decor was really beautiful, and there were several original elements in the different rooms. Even the place where this escape room is build in is quite surprising and unique. They really did a great job to keep the storyline clear throughout the game using videos.

The puzzles were very difficult and complex. We aren’t sure if it was our fault but we didn’t think that the flow between puzzles was smooth. Maybe the puzzles in this escape room didn’t fall within our forte. It was a nice mix of traditional locks, automatic mechanisms and manipulation games. The puzzles were all related to the story and the world that they’ve created. The game master entered the room to give us hints, and we really don’t like this method.
Overall, we recommend this escape room because it had beautiful decor with original and enjoyable puzzles to solve. If you are up a real challenge, this room is perfect for you. We are not veyr proud of our performance because we didn’t escape but at least we were working on the last puzzle when we ran out of time. We loved it but didn’t escape!
