Mystery at the Maryweather Mansion was the first room we played that day at Looking Glass Adventures. In this scenario, Ms. Maryweather, a world-renowned archaeologist and explorer, learns that her prized artifact collection is in danger while she is away on her latest expedition. She calls on you and your team to step in and protect what matters most. You have one hour to explore her stately manor and determine which possession is truly the most valuable. We liked the scenario for its strong level of detail and its unique take on the classic explorer storyline.
The decor was beautiful and very well executed. The attention to detail, realism, and finishing touches really stood out. It is not always easy to create a visually impressive space using a traditional living room setting, but they did an excellent job making it feel immersive and engaging. The style matched the theme and story perfectly, and everything felt cohesive. We were also pleasantly surprised by the final room, which added a memorable twist to the experience. The background music enhanced the atmosphere, and we appreciated that the game master took the time to explain the story before the game began.

The puzzles were fun to solve and were all connected to the theme and story. The room relied mostly on traditional locks, with a few automated elements mixed in, offering a nice variety. There was a good number of puzzles, and they were generally on the easier side, making the experience accessible. The room was linear, meaning we could only focus on one task at a time, which kept the progression clear and structured. Without giving anything away, we especially appreciated the creativity behind the final puzzle. Hints were provided via walkie-talkie and worked well throughout the game.
Overall, we really enjoyed this room because the decor was impressive, and the puzzles were thoughtfully designed. It is a family-friendly experience that is best suited for smaller groups of two to three players. We were happy with our performance, as we completed the room quickly and only needed one hint. We liked it and we escaped!
