Jurassic Park Rangers was the only room we played that evening at Exit Broadway in Vancouver. In this scenario, we are park rangers responsible for the care and well-being of the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. We’ve discovered that eggs are missing from some habitats, and our investigation leads us to the West Gate Lab, which has been shut down for a while. However, upon arrival, we notice unusual activity in the facility. Technically, we’re not supposed to be there, and the security guard will be back in 50 minutes—will we have enough time to uncover the mystery? The scenario is well written, detailed, and has a clear goal, which we appreciated!

The decor was decent but a bit basic. The dinosaur looked great, and we were particularly impressed by the large gate in the first room. While the layout is reused from a previous room in the same space, we were glad to see that it didn’t feel recycled—there was enough change to make it feel fresh. That said, the rooms felt a bit empty, and adding more props or details could’ve made the environment more immersive. There wasn’t any background music, but there were a few sound effects.

The puzzles were enjoyable and all connected to the story and theme. However, there weren’t very many of them, and we found them quite easy overall. It was a mix of traditional locks, automatic mechanisms, and manipulation-based puzzles. We liked the variety, but considering the theme, we had higher expectations. Hints were delivered in person by the game master, who would come into the room to assist when needed—something that slightly breaks immersion.

Overall, we liked the room okay, but we think the puzzles could use some improvement in both quantity and difficulty. It’s a family-friendly experience and is best suited for small groups of 2–3 people. We’re happy with our performance—we completed the room quickly and didn’t need any hints. We liked it okay, and we escaped!
