Forgotten Carnival was the first room we played that morning at Escaparium Sherbrooke. In this scenario, your best childhood memories were made at the Grand Carnival. Your grandfather, the founder, would take you there whenever he could. He dedicated his entire life to the Carnival and took immense pride in it. Unfortunately, due to health reasons, he was forced to close it a few years ago. During a recent conversation with him, you come up with an idea: why not try to reopen the Grand Carnival? You gather a few family members and set your plan in motion. Since this might be your last chance to enter the Carnival, you decide to make the most of what is still functional. However, time is limited. In 60 minutes, at midnight, the electricity will be permanently cut off, making your mission impossible. We liked the scenario because it is well detailed and realistic, with an original storyline.

The decor was beautiful and very well executed. The high ceilings played a big role in creating the illusion of being outdoors, which added a lot to the immersion. The space was used effectively, and the overall ambiance was excellent. The attention to detail was impressive, everything was in good condition, and the finishing touches were thoughtfully done. It is always appreciated when cables and technical elements are well hidden, as it helps with the realism. We also enjoyed the background music during the game. The only minor downside was that the game master entered the room at the beginning to explain the rules, which slightly broke the immersion.

The puzzles were fun to solve and were well connected to the theme and story. The balance between traditional locks, automatic mechanisms, and hands-on manipulation games was excellent. The puzzles were generally on the easier side, and the game was linear, which made the progression clear and accessible. One small drawback was a slight delay after solving certain puzzles, which sometimes made it unclear whether we had completed them correctly. Despite that, the variety was great, and we had a lot of fun throughout the experience. To request hints, we had to call out, and the game master would respond via a screen in the room.

Overall, we loved this game. The decor was immersive, and the puzzles were very well designed. It is a perfect room for families and works best with smaller groups of two to three players. We were very happy with our performance, as we completed the room quickly without using any hints. We loved it and we escaped!
